have been having some trouble with the internet lately at my house which accounts for my poor performance in updating the last few days... i hope to get this issue taken care of ASAP ... wanted to post a picture which i felt very much typified for me true love... although dogs can't speak (english at least ) their mannerisms speak of their complete unquestioning devotion and love... sometimes when i see all the problems we get into as humans i feel that we could take a page from our friends and try to think a little less with our brains and maybe more with our hearts and remember that we are all here together and we are all humanity

LETS GO PHILLIES ... attended the phillies game last night and watched our team increase their lead to 2 games with 2 to go before the playoffs!! everyone was given a towel and we were waving our towels rooting the team on!!

tribute to the soccer team i play on for my school in a local league of all professional programs around the city... the first game was this weekend... 4-4 tie against temple's dental school...

i am a really big fan of taking pictures of everyday items which are shown in a new light and in an artistic way... this was a beer i was having a short while ago and the lamp behind it struck me as a piece of art ... i thought the way the light shone through really gave me a feel of life... as a plug i was having this beer at a bar "fiume" which is in west philadelphia and has a great array of excellent beers... also it is directly above an AMAZING ethiopian restaurant Abyssinia ... and you can even order ethiopian up to the bar!! so check it out if you are in philadelphia!

the building is another apartment complex where a friend of my lives... this is highlighting a very nice area of the city which is the art museum section of philadelphia... directly across the street is the philadelphia art museum which has become famous for its large fine art galleries, its proximity to the schuylkill river, and of course its connection to the rocky films... if you have ever seen the movies you will know the part i speak of when rocky triumphantly ascends the beautiful steps and throws his hands in the air... this area also has a number of nice cafes and restaurants which make it a great place to live...

a picture from the roof of the parking garage looking at the temple university medical buildings which are part of the campus where i go to medical school ... the cardinal temple logo hiding but yet popping out against the blue sky...

i saw this logo today at the plymouth meeting mall today (a large suburban mall about 20 mins from philadelphia)... this emblem is representing one of the original department store locations for the strawbridge and clothier corporation... the eastern united states store is now part of macys ... strawbridge and clothier was started by two quakers living in philadelphia.... the philadelphia area is the US home of the peace church... although william penn and the other quaker colonizers are known for their extreme piety and uprightness i still find the emblem ironic given what is known to have transpired between the colonizing peoples and the native americans... would not be a seal of confidence i would put my trust in...

a picture of an apartment building in my local area of philadelphia, east falls ... the childhood home of princess grace kelly as well as an area where governor ed rendell has a house and where chaim potok had a house when he was living ... it is quite a nice area to live as it is a short train, car, or my choice bike ride into downtown and close to the neat area known as manayunk... if anyone makes it out to philly this is a nice area to check out!

This picture makes me feel much more calm... on a trip to the mall (of all places) i decided to take this picture of a palm tree... now at all times i can feel that i am in a calming tropical place... !!

So today's post is actually of Pittsburgh, PA. I really enjoy Pittsburgh as a city, and especially love the amazing city views you can get. This one was from the top of the Duquesne Incline! But the real reason I put this up was to tout an organization one of my good friends works for. It is called Global Links. And they are an organization that helps package and send medical equipment and supplies overseas. It turns out that they are much in need right now as they are trying to help out Cuba after Hurricane Ike just devestated the island. They are one of the few organizations in the USA allowed to send aid.
