:: restrained beauty ::

this is from a jaunt i took just outside of philadelphia a few days ago... there is a wolf preserve not far which is incredible to see... but on the other hand i was a little bit sad... the man who has rescued them from various situations is so nice and cares more for the wolves then anything i have seen before, but it breaks my heart to see them in (even large) fenced in areas... we always think about what was done to other people by humans being so colonial, but a major question we really need to ask ourselves ... is it worth our advancement at the expense of such amazingly graceful animals... sorry for the negative thoughts, but was just on my mind... i hope you enjoy this picture half as much as i enjoyed being at this wolf preserve

Yes, the animals are beautiful, but here in Minnesota and other neighboring states they have to be protected from humans!

yeah... wish on the earth we could all (animals, humans, etc) live together without problem... but alas not in the cards i fear

Great picture! I think the fence is really to protect the wolves!

you are definitely right ...it is there to protect them... it is just too bad that has to be the case... that they can't live as they should be... we need to now protect them...

Andrew, gorgeous shot! Did you take this? Yikes, that's close!
In the "great minds think alike" department, yesterday I featured a shot of two wolf-dogs here in Seattle. It might interest you to know that Washington State just this summer documented its first wild wolves come down into state from British Columbia, Canada, and the pack is living free and wild, with state government blessing. It was all over the news and people were excited to have a wild pack come back into the ecosystem without aid of humans.

All right, that is just plain beautiful. The best photo that I’ve seen all week. It’s great to see that the wolves are being encouraged back from the brink. I’m enjoying your blog very much.

This shot is breathetaking. He's so majestic. I agree with you completely. Wild animal are best lin that envorinment, but the helping hand of a kindly stranger is wonderful, but to conife a naimal is so sad.
